Dr. David A. DiMeo, D.V.M. received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 1983 and has worked exclusively with small animals. He has also recieved BS degrees in Animal Science, Veterinary Science and Bacteriology.
His personal interests include internal medicine, cardiology, and ultrasonography. He is a past president of both the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association (RIVMA) an New England Veterinary Association (AVMA), Association of Avain Veterinarians (AAV) and the American Heartworm Society. He is married to Dr. Pelto and has five children.

Dr. Julie A. Pelto, D.V.M. received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University in 1985. While at Michigan State she recieved the Zoo and Wildlife Medicine Award and Small Animal Clinical Proficiency Award. She also directed the wildlife rehabilitation clinic and was inducted into the Phi Zeta Honor Society.
After completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Illinois (1985-1986) and a residency in exotic, wildlife and zoological medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the Philidelphia Zoo (1988-1992) she became the staff Veterinarian at the Roger Williams Park Zoo (1988-1992). Dr. Pelto is a member of AVMA, RIVMA (past-president), NEVMA, AAV, and the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians. She is married to Dr. DiMeo and has five children.

Dr. Amy L. Hopper, D.V.M. received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee in 1992. She is a member of the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. Her special interests include preventive medicine and surgery, the human - animal bond and senior care.

Dr. Chyten graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1995. There he received a bachelors degree in science in mechanical engineering. He attended Tufts University of Veterinary Medicine were he graduated in 2005 as a DVM. He just moved to Lincoln Rhode Island with his wife Marina who is a nurse/midwife. He also has a cat named Maxi, and a dog named Casper who was a laboratory dog from the school he attended. His interests in the field are dermatology and surgery. He is excited and eager to begin his career at Atwood Animal Hospital.
